GIVE BACK TO THOSE

WHO HAVE GIVEN TO US

SPONSORING A VETERAN

There are 3 basic qualifications needed for House of Heroes support:

  • Be a Military or Public Safety Veteran or their spouse

  • Need financial and / or physical assistance with home repair

  • Own and occupy the home to be repaired

Veterans, if you meet these requirements, please apply below for assistance. For those that wish to refer a veteran to honor, please register and identify yourself as a sponsor. Our staff will review this initial application and contact you for a more information.

Please know that we do have a waiting list and often a group may want to work in a specific area out of the waiting list order.

Supporting documents such as a copy of DD-214 will be required to complete the application.

Please know that we focus on safety, accessibility, sustainability and improvements that can be made in one day.

Specialty projects, such as roofing, must be accomplished by licensed professionals and are not typically doable in a day.

If you know of a licensed contractor that would like to assist HOH please have them register on our volunteer form.

We are an all volunteer organization and patience is greatly appreciated.

We know there are many deserving Veterans in need of assistance and we work hard to meet the needs of everyone.

These are the services House of Heroes can support:

Ramps and Stairs

Handrails

Handicap access

Electrical

Plumbing

Fire safety (smoke and CO detectors)

Basic carpentry

Deck repair

Painting

Landscaping

*House of Heroes cannot support roofing repairs or jobs that require more than 1 day to complete.

TESTIMONIALS

Two years ago House of Heroes refurbished a ramp and cleared over grown debris from my neighbor's condo right around Veterans Day.  For the next few weeks it was all he talked about.  He and his wife were so thankful.  Sadly, Bob passed away before Christmas that same year.  However, his wife, Susan still talks about you generosity and how their adult, wheelchair bound, children can now visit  her since the ramp has been fixed and is now safe.  I am also a veteran and wanted to share how thankful I am that you brought such joy to Bob and Susan Johnson.

Carol-I wanted to let you know that Hanover insurance has agreed to renew the policy for the veteran due to the generosity of House of Heroes! Thank you. I just got the word today.
