Q: How can I volunteer?

A: Go to our Volunteer page and fill out a form or contact our office if there is a particular event that you are interested in.

Email: info@houseofheroesct.org

Q: How old do you have to be to work on a HOH house?

A: Typically we ask for volunteers ages 18 and up, however, we do accept ages 14-17 with adult supervision. Some local High Schools are offering community service opportunities to select students. Those are approved prior to volunteering.

Q: How can our company sponsor a house?

A: Just contact our office and we will give you information about homes in need of repairs and let your group select a home and based on the repairs needed for the home. Your team will select a Team Captain that will meet the homeowner and review the home with a member of HOHCT.  Together we will evaluate all of the repairs needed and  the costs involved. Some are light repairs, or medium repairs, but some homes need major repairs and may require more than one work day to accomplish the tasks. HOHCT makes a difference in a day and repairs that go beyond a day may not be able to be completed.

Q: If I want to make a donation, where should I send it?

A: Local monetary donations can be made through Paypal on our website, or you can call our office to make a donation by credit card. We also accept donations made by check*. Those can be mailed to:

House of Heroes Connecticut Chapter
3342 Whitney Ave.
Hamden, CT. 06518

Q: Our baseball team would like to get involved in your organization and volunteer, but we do not have the money to sponsor a house. How can we help?

A:We would like to offer an opportunity for your group to work on a house. If you do not have the money to sponsor a house, please reach out to us to see if there are upcoming projects you can work on. In the mean time, you can advocate for our organization by doing fundraisers throughout the next year so that you can sponsor a house the following year. We can always find a way for you to help.  Go to the FORMS page and scroll down to volunteer to help.  Fill out that form and someone will get back to you.
